Rainbow Tomato Salad

I absolutely LOVE this salad. It is flavourful, colourful, and it definitely inspired me to be healthier. Honestly I never liked or wanted to try zucchini before, but I am glad I did. It adds a simple sweet flavour to balance out the tangy lemon, and the juicy tomatoes.  This takes hardly any time to make which leaves more time to enjoy the food. All you have to do is slice up a bunch of ingredients and throw them in a bowl. I was inspired to make this salad when I saw a picture on Pinterest (follow Chef Material on Pinterest) and the minute I saw it I knew I had to recreate it. The salad I created for you is made to be simple and refreshing. If you find yourself eating lots of heavy, salty, or sugary foods, this is a great salad to refresh your pallet give you a nutrition boost. *See bonus recipe at the end* Continue reading

Sun-dried Tomato Salad

Tasty and refreshing are two words that come to mind when I make this salad. It is a very flavourful salad that will leave you feeling refreshed and energised. It is nutritious and extremely easy to make. I have been eating a lot of the same salads over and over again throughout the year and I decided to try something new and healthy to start off the year. This salad has chopped walnuts in it which I love because it gives the salad a bit of a crunch! Walnuts are actually a great replacement for croutons. You could also add pumpkin seed, which I thought of later on. I also really love this salad because there are no heavy or unhealthy dressings all there is, is lemon juice which makes the salad all the more refreshing. Continue reading

ART IS IN Inspired Sandwich

Artisin inspired sanwdich

Have you ever been to Art Is In Bakery?  If not, I can tell you now the food is amazing, especially the bread. I recently went for lunch and decided to try one of their sandwiches. The sandwich recipe was genius, so I decided to try to recreate the recipe. This was actually the first time I tried butternut squash and I was pleasantly surprised. If you are not a fan of squash,  sweet potato tastes just as delicious. In the end the blend of flavours came out absolutely amazing, and I  definitely plan on making this sandwich again. Lemon Scones

IMG_1922.jpgNever made scones before? Well, these are the perfect ones to start with! These perfectly sweet lemon scones are crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. These scones are a bit of a twist on the classic lemon poppy seed scones because…there’s no poppy seeds of course but they can always be added. These were the first scones I ever made and they have turned out perfect every single time! Continue reading
