Chip Party

A quick and easy last minute idea for guests or any celebration! Who doesn’t love a nice big bowl of chips? No matter who your guests are, there is sure to be something for everyone with these three homemade chip dips. I paired these all organic corn chips with a spicy salsa, a refreshing guacamole, and a flavourful hummus. I am a big fan of all of these toppings and I knew I had to invent my own simple recipes for each one. All that is required for these recipes, is a few simple ingredients. Each takes about 5 minutes to make leaving you with more time to enjoy the party! 

**Each recipe makes about 1 cup.


homemade guacamole for chips

You will need:

  • 2 avocados
  • 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes
  • Handful of cilantro
  • 1/8 onion
  • 1 lemon


  1. Mash avocado with a fork or using a food processor, then pour into a bowl.
  2. Using the food processor, chop up the tomatoes until they are choppy but not blended completely and not mushy. Mix tomatoes and avocado in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Dice the onion and chop up the parsley then mix with the other ingredients.
  4. Add all the juice from the lemon and mix well.


homemade hummus for chips

You will need: 

  • 1 can chickpeas 
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 Tbs sesame seeds (plus extra for topping)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon


  1. Place ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth
  2. Top with sesame seeds

You will need: 

  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
  • Handful of cilantro
  • 1/8 red onion
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (add more depending on how spicy you want it)
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Juice of 1 lime


  1. Dice up all the onions and tomatoes and set aside in a bowl.
  2. Chop up some cilantro and add to the bowl.
  3. Add the chili flakes, ground pepper, salt and lime juice.
